Since all of you animal welfare people have so much spare time (chuckle, chuckle, snort, snort), I wanted to recommend a book if you are interested in learning more about the psychology of influence. You might think this is all about sales, but we in the nonprofit world would do well to take a page or two from the textbooks of commercial business strategy.

Robert Cialdini explores the fascinating world of influence and persuasion in very easy-to-read, engaging language. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and it made me aware of how every single conversation I have is an opportunity to influence someone. It’s recommended reading for sure!
