I have seen nonprofits cautiously embrace social media over the last five years, but they still aren’t completely sure how to use it for fundraising. This session will teach you how, and help you get you Executive Director and Board of Directors excited too! We’ll look at successful social media fundraising campaigns, and some not-so-successful ones, and break down how and why they worked or didn’t work. I’ll share my 5 secrets that make my campaigns meet their goals 100% of the time.
Facebook is removing all Static FBML Page Tabs Wednesday, December 5, 2012. It’s the last chance to move your Static FBML Page tab content to an HTML tab. This post explains how to save your content and how to get it back on Facebook safely.
TheSocialAnimal.com has developed a WordPress Plugin that will enable any website to display featured animal(s) from Petfinder.com in a variety of different ways.
If you need to claim a page or place that belongs to you, but you don’t have control over it, watch this video for help on what to do and how to actually email to a person at Facebook.
Facebook’s new features released today allow brand pages to assign specific duties to multiple page admins, each with varying degrees of permissions. Enclosed is a chart that outlines the new roles of manager, content creator, moderator, advertiser and insights analyst. Facebook will also now allow pages to schedule posts–for past or future times.
Engagement is “Likes”, “Comments” and “Shares”. If your number of likes, comments and shares are consistently low, EdgeRank will determine that your fans are not interested in your page posts and your post will no longer appear on your fan’s Facebook wall. A person “Liking” your page is no guarantee that they will see all your posts. If a fan does not interact with your page (via likes, comments and shares) it will eventually disappear from their Facebook wall.
On March 30, 2012, ALL Facebook pages will automatically switch to the new Timeline layout. Whether you like it or not, Timeline is here for your business or organization page, so you might as well make the most of it! I’ll show you tricks to customize your page and get it launched, and then I’ll walk you through the anatomy of the Timeline and what you can do with it.
Every time you figure out where all the buttons are on Facebook, they move them! Several people have switched to the new timeline and are having a hard time finding the “protect your page” link to authenticate their page.
It’s located on the easy-to-miss little “settings” gearbox on your page. Check out this screenshot to see.
On March 30, 2012, Facebook will convert all pages (not just profiles anymore!) to the Timeline layout. You’ll be able to exchange private messages with your fans, plus control which apps show at the top of your page (and have much greater visibility for the apps you have installed, like donate pages, lists of adoptable animals, etc.) This video walks you through the changes and how to prepare.
